I was under the impression each "monthly item" was to be a new item? I got a duplicate of August's Sardonyx Poppy Signet. If it's going to be duplicates all the time, it's taken the novelty and the worth having the subscription active away from me.

Nah, I think this is valid feedback. The new item should be ready by now.
iirc the new monthly items come out more around the 15 - 17th (though i guess earlier, given subs are renewing now?), and then we receive said item when our subscription renews after its release. regardless i imagine there will be a september item, it's just later/maybe a bit delayed because of everything going on. im pretty sure some users were able to file a ticket and swap their items last month.
That... makes absolutely no sense but it's Subeta so it does.

i believe it was because subscriptions launched mid-month, so the item will change mid-month, which i agree is a lil weird but what can ya do, lol.
The subscription system launched July 12th. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that the new item would come out on the 12th when the people who subscribed the day it launched would get renewed. I also don't remember having the same problem when I got renewed last month - the new item was ready then.
It should just be ready on the first of the month so that no matter when you renew, you'd have the new item?
My subscription also got renewed today, so I also got the same item again..I mean, I can always sell it, or give it away. But I was under the impression that there would be a new item by the time the next month's payment came around? If I had known, I would have cancelled until the new item released, then signed up again...

You should keep it just in case. When the new item does come out, I think you can swap it if you submit a ticket. I think that's what happened last time.

I've filed a ticket about this because we were told last month (on August 12th, when the new item was switched over) that we'd be getting a new item each month and they'd release it the same day every month (which they stated in that news post was going to be the 12th of each month, or rather that was their plan...but to change it literally the next month is frustrating). If it's not going to switch until a later date, then I'd rather cancel my subscription and restart it at a later time instead of having to file a ticket every single month to get the new item because it's off by a couple days.

It seems a little... counterproductive when there's the sudden focus on keeping items that are meant to be special/highly valued suddenly flooding the market. We had this with the shrimp in that chance crate years ago because everyone wanted a wig.
Perhaps a quarterly special item instead of a monthly one to keep the value up, the pressure down and have everyone happy? Idk?

Can't this just be changed to the 1st of the month? I didn't want this extra thing, and didn't know I had to keep it to exchange it for the proper item later.
Also, the person/people in charge of releasing things on time needs to get a calendar and use it. I'm really tired of things being late, or pushed back, or having vague starting times like Subeta holidays. "Around the 12th" or "mid-March" or "sometime in September" is just aggravating, and makes it difficult to plan around. Just make a date and stick to it!
To be clear, I am NOT talking about the release of prizes from the Quest-a-thon. The world is basically ending right now and that's understandable. I'm speaking more of subscription renewal, holidays having to go an extra week because they started late, release dates not being honored for features, etc.

The actual date doesn't matter, there'd be folks talking about canceling their subs and then restarting whatever the date was. Having a stash of already-created items already drawn and put into a queue, that does matter. That way no matter what the date the site can push out the new item automatically no matter if staff is on leave, on vacation, or on fire
I have a feeling that new item didn't get put in the que because Bug and Keith Have both had some IRL and just came back to fix the lag/error issue. Hopefully they will make an announcement soon.

To my mind, the new subscription program was introduced on the 12th of the month so of course a lot of us joined then. Since that was the start of the program it should also be the start of the new item each month. No need for tickets, no need for people who joined right at the beginning to wait a month to get the no-longer-new item

I re-subscribed this morning (since there is strangely no option to upgrade your subscription), and got the old item. Does this mean I will have to wait a month for the new one? Will I always be a month late? Or does this mean I missed out on the new item completely?
Is there any way to make sure folks who made tickets this morning get them assigned to a staff member today? I've been waiting all day without it even being assigned to anyone :/
The easiest solution would be to release the item during the evening of the 11th.
It is a bit frustrating for people who have subscribed not long before the item's release, not knowing at the time that it was going to be around the same time every month. I subscribed at the beginning of August, then cancelled it because I didn't want to wait for the new item (I admit I have a patience problem), but I had to miss out on that month's item anyway because I had to wait for my current subscription to expire. I'll re-subscribe either today or tomorrow, I wasn't sure if they would still release the new item on the same day this month or not because of all the stuff going on right now. Having to send a ticket once or twice if the item ends up delayed by a few days isn't as bad as having to do it every single month.
I'm worried about people who subscribed on any day after the 28th. What will this mean for February? Will it renew on the last day anyway, or will it not do anything? Same with people who subsribed on the 31st of a month, what will happen in months with only 30 days? It seems like it wasn't fully thought through.
